Yohji Yamamoto
Greetings from London!
Victoria & Albert Museum in London has opened exhibition celebrating the work of Japanese fashion designer Yohji Yamamoto. The exhibition includes key pieces from his womenswear and menswear collections from several decades and also including his collaboration with Adidas under Y3 label.
Visitors are given a chance to study designs very close to appreciate and admire the work involved. Majority of the pieces are in the familiar muted tones in black and grey but occasional flashes of bright colours in the evening dresses prove that his sophisticated cuts and designs can make a louder statement if required. Same goes for some of the patterns used in men’s suits.
The exhibition has several monitors showing Yohji Yamamoto fashion shows from past years, interviews and the Wim Wenders-directed documentary Notes On Cities And Clothes from 1989.
The exhibition runs from March 12 to July 10 and the general admission is 7.00 pounds.
